Your cellar
down the road
An antidote to wine stored badly and neighbours known barely.
Wine stored well. Neighbours known better.
London packs people together and keeps them apart. Cramped flats, narrow stairwells, busy streets. Close enough for community happen, but rarely slow enough for it to form.
The wine suffers the same fate. Bought with intention, stored without thought. Next to the boiler, on top of the fridge, at the mercy of the radiator.
Across London, good wine becomes bad and good neighbours stay strangers.
Here, wine is stored well and neighbours are known better.
“Friends came over impromptu on Friday night, so I popped to the cellar to grab a bottle of Burgundy. Bumped into a guy I’d seen before, got introduced. Now Bryan and I trade bottles on the regular.”
